Being pregnant brings about a lot of different challenges. Being plus size and pregnant, brings up even more. Maybe I’m biased because I’ve only experienced being pregnant in a size 18 body, but I’m sure if you’re reading this- you agree! But the most challenging thing about it? Finding plus size maternity clothes!
I didn’t start obviously showing until 30 weeks and I remember it perfectly. He popped the morning of my baby shower. I threw on my Christy Dawn dress that I was ecstatic to wear and thought... “whoa. I’m pregnant.”
From that point on my clothing started to fit me differently and even my stretchiest of jeans moved to the back of my closet. I was one of the lucky (interpret that as you will) ones who was pregnant during a quarantine, so I didn’t buy myself a ton of maternity clothes. Fortunately the majority of my sweatpants fit up until my due date!
