10 Things That Are Sparking Joy In My Life Right Now

Hi my friends!

I hope you’re all remaining calm, positive, and stress-free during probably one of the most stressful times any of us have experienced. Ha! Easier said than done, right? Well, listen- we’re all in this together and now more than ever I truly feel that. Social media has it’s downsides, but being able to connect with all of you and people all over the world has been a blessing! So, that being said... I wanted to compile a list of the 10 things that are sparking joy in my life right now because Marie Kondo know’s whats up. And who doesn’t want to feel a little joy right now?

  1. If you read my blog post yesterday I mentioned how cashmere has officially changed my life. These Garnet Hill cashmere socks are no joke. They're so soft and warm and honestly make me feel so fancy. Who doesn’t love the idea of feeling fancy AF right now?

2. I don't know about you but the massive amount of hand sanitizer I've been using has been doing a number on my hands. I needed some extra strength lotion. So, of course I went right to my favorite brands Weleda. I picked up this almond hand lotion and it's been working wonders on these mitts.

3. Right now It's looking like I won't be taking any modeling jobs for the foreseeable future. Because of that that means my nails can finally take a break. If you've been following along for a decent amount you know that for photoshoots I have to have nude nail polish on all the time (my go to is Essie Skinny Dip Gel). Now that I have a little time off I've decided to give my nails a little break from gel and use this Nailtique protein that I've been using probably since elementary school. My mom turned me on to Nailtique ages ago as I've been a nail biter my entire life. The protein helps fingernails get stronger and right now might be a really good time to take a break from any of the treatments you might do on your nails.

(Bonus!) I have to admit though I am throwing on a little red nail polish on top of the protein because like I mentioned I'm taking a break from the nude polish and having some fun This is my go-to red from Essie. PS, while we’re talking about hands go take a picture of your hand and submit it to @allhandsaregoodhands for a chance to be featured!

4. Currently going through a meltdown on my face due to an insane hormonal breakout and you know probably a little bit of stress. I owe any of my facial sanity to this oil cleanser from Biossance that I switched to a little while back. I was turned on to this brand from numerous influencers that I follow and admire and they were right. It's my first oil cleanser and it's definitely making a difference. I love the way it takes my makeup off with total ease and also leaves my skin feeling hydrated after I wash it.

5. I was also influenced to buy these slippers. My friend Lydia posted about these a couple months back. It might have been a late night intoxicated purchase, but it truly was a good one. I've been living in these slippers inside and outside of the house for the last week and I love them. They have a rubber sole so they can be worn outside. And I'm pretty sure the Haley Bieber's of the world are wearing them outside all the time. Might be a little too much for me, but I'm loving them for right now.

6. I know, I know, I know, I've been talking about this book nonstop but I've been slowly reading it and I'm almost finished. I couldn't recommend it enough. Sallie Krawcheck is such an empowering role model for all women and it's just a really great read right now. The economy is going through a crisis and it's really important to have some sort of understanding of your financial well-being. Sallie is trying to bring power and money back to women and how could I not support that??

7. DK and I are always fans of having candles around the home. It just makes it feel cozier and more enjoyable. We made sure to bring up a couple of our favorite candles to the Airbnb. My go-to candle brand and also go-to easy gift is from Otherland. I'm a huge fan of the brand and I'm also a huge fan of Abigail the founder. They last an insanely long time and can really fill the room with a delicious scent without the fragrance being too intense. My favorite is daybed, but their seasonal scents are really yummy too.

8. If you caught my story yesterday I mentioned how we brought up our own comforter and pillows to the Airbnb we are staying at. A lot of you showed interest in what we use so I had to share. We love our set from the White Company. I must say- it was probably the best idea we had. I love feeling the comfort of home and it’s definitely putting Birdie at ease too.

9. Of course Birdie always brings me joy, but now more than ever it's really nice to have a furry companion who loves you unconditionally. If you don't already have a cutie in your home with you check out your local animal shelters. I’m sure a lot of them are desperate for fosters right now. I’ll link to the shelter we found our little one, but it’s in the NYC area. Just google animal shelters in your area and I’m sure you can find one easily.

10. Last but not least being in nature has been incredible. I know not everyone might have the luxury to escape the city right now, but if you have the chance to or if you live outside of a city- don’t take it for granted. We rented this awesome Airbnb for the time being. The ability to walk outside and breathe in the fresh air is absolutely keeping me sane. We’re planning on going for a hike later today and I can’t wait. Take this moment to either step outside, open up your window, or lay out in your backyard. The world is scary right now, but there’s still plenty of little things to be grateful for.

Thanks for reading! Hope you guys are taking a second to acknowledge what’s bringing you joy right now. Feel free to leave a comment and let me know what that might be below! Love you guys!
