My Baby Registry Favorites
If you’re anything like me- the idea of making a baby registry stresses you out. I entered motherhood without a ton of experience with babies. I think I could count on one hand how many diapers I’ve changed, so when I started reading about all the different things I needed before baby came- I panicked.
So, I compiled a list of things that I both received as gifts and have purchased myself that are great registry items and have been great for me in my first month of motherhood.
By the way, I used babylist to register and it was great!
UPPAbaby MESA Infant Car Seat & UPPAbaby Cruz V2 Stroller
When looking into what kind of car seat/stroller combo we wanted to use- the top recommendation I received from both friends and family was the UppaBaby and we’re so happy with it! It fits great into our car and it was incredibly easy to install and to now take in and out!
I really love baby wearing. It reminds me of being pregnant again and Koss will literally pass out in minutes. I even mastered feeding and wearing this morning- I felt very accomplished! I have this pretty printed wrap and a plain black one! They’re soft and work on my plus size body. Make sure to watch their tutorials to see how to wear one!
aden + anais Silky Soft Burpy Baby Bib & aden + anais Swaddles
I fell in love with this brand! They have the softest quality fabric I’ve found. Also, the patterns are gorgeous. I grabbed two of their burp clothes and that has been enough for me so far! Their swaddles double as cozy blankets and you’ll wish they had one in your size.
I found Pipette on Instagram. Sometimes I get influenced too ;). Their clean and great for sensitive skin. The fragrance is light for the baby wash and I personally love the way it smells. It’s a blend of rose and patchouli. We use their wash, oil, and hand sanitizer. I actually bought their brightening mask for myself, but haven’t used it enough to give a solid review. Their baby products are great though! You can build your own bundle of the product you’d like. That’s what I did- you save 20%.
Turns out washcloths are GOLD. We go through a ton of these. In the first couple of weeks our little guy loved a good rub down and we would run these under warm water and give him a little sponge bath. Now that he’s a little older and can take baths in the sink- I’m still using them. They were also great for his blocked tear duct and to just keep him clean in general.
I love giving Koss a quick brush in the mornings and evenings. It’s also helped with the dry skin he was developing on his head. The bristles are super soft. This is just an easy item to make sure you have!
Keekaroo Peanut Diaper Changing Pad
This has become an essential in our life. I always saw soft changing tables when I searched images of nurseries and I understand the comfort aspect, but that seemed like a lot of laundry to me. I was right. You need a Keekaroo or any sort of foam changing table. You just wipe it down and you’re good to go. I like to keep a little blanket on the top half of it so it’s not as cold for him and sometimes I’ll cover the top half of him with the blanket when I’m changing him too.
These were recommended to me by a friend and they have been great! We wanted to stick to pretty clean, easy products because I have super sensitive skin- so I could only assume our little one would have sensitive skin too. I was right. These are 99% water and work great!
We got the Puj tub as a hand-me-down and it’s been great for us. Babies can’t be submerged in water until their cords come off so for the first few weeks you’re just giving them the occasional sponge bath, but once their ready for a tub- this is a great option. You just place it in your sink.
You won’t really need these until you’re giving your baby full on baths, but it’s a good idea to have them ready. We have 2 towels and it’s enough for us at this point. We’d probably be fine with just one, honestly. A friend of mine had these customized for us and we absolutely adore it!
The White Company Heirloom White Baby Blanket
I’m a big fan of everything from The White Company makes. It’s where we buy all our bedding. So, when I saw this baby blanket- I needed it. It’s so soft and adorable. It’s a good size to use as a swaddle and perfect to bundle them up in the car seat or stroller. And I’m sure when he’s old enough he’ll be cuddling up with it in his crib.
I didn’t have the Dockatot on my registry because I wasn’t positive I would need it. I was wrong! A friend of ours gave one to us a couple weeks after Koss was born and he absolutely loves it. It’s so convenient to bring it around with us in each room when we want to watch him. Plus, they’re so pretty. They just launched a new collection and the prints are to die for.
I love our Hatch light. Daniel and I were using it when I was still pregnant because we loved the sound options it has! It’s an easy touch on/off, but we personally love using the app to control it. Koss loves the TV white noise sound- it knocks him right out at nap time.
I wanted something cute and simple for Koss’s first toys. A lot of the ones we found were too clunky. I found this one while doing a simple amazon search and was pleasantly surprised with how cute it was! It’s easy to put together and Koss seems to enjoy sitting under it. He’s still a bit young to really get the most out of it, but we love the aesthetic.
This was the first piece of clothing I found for Koss. Gender norms aren’t my thing and I wanted my little boy decked out in florals. This set was gorgeous and I knew I wanted it to be his coming home outfit. I was ecstatic when I felt the quality- it’s incredibly soft and really well made. I love that it came with mittens, a hat, and a matching blanket. This bundle is sold out in this print, but the gown is still available. You’ll love all of their prints options though. It’s a perfect gift for someone! Or to get yourself!
I wanted to make sure Koss had at least one really warm, cozy option. I found this romper through a friend on Instagram and fell in love. Its just as great in person!
I was introduced to this small business from a friend and I fell for everything they have. They have fun and quirky pieces and when I saw this set- it reminded me of something Daniel would wear and I needed to have it. I added a lot of their bigger sizes to my registry. I figured the newborn phase was filled with a lot of throw away onsies, but as they got older you can introduce more fun stuff.
Speaking of throw away onsies! These are the best. I put this on my registry and ended up ordering long sleeves too. I mean- who doesn’t love a plain white tee?? These are a great safety net when you don’t really know how fast they’ll grow. Everyone warned me not to buy too many newborn clothes- so I didn’t, but he’s 4 weeks old and still only fits NB. I had to do a lot of Amazon prime orders these last few weeks.
I got a Boppy as gift, I got a second one as a hand-me-down, and then a third one when I worked with them on a project. So, now we have a Boppy in each room ha! It’s a bit overkill and I’m planning on passing them down to my friends, but I’ve really enjoyed using them. It was extremely helpful for me in the hospital and has been great to have for nursing sessions since we’ve been home. It came in handy when I was still getting my groove. These days I’m not using it as much, but I still think it’s great to have one!
I started pumping this week. I decided to wait until 3 weeks to introduce him to a bottle. I wanted to feel really comfortable breastfeeding and the exhaustion hadn’t completely hit me yet. By 3 weeks I was ready for Daniel to take a couple of the night shifts and I whipped out the Spectra pump. Another recommendation from a friend- it’s been great! I like that it has the battery option so you can move around with it. It has a light so you can use it at night. Besides that- it gets the milk out and that’s what I need it for!
These were recommended by a friend and they have been great! We only started using bottles within the past week, but Koss took to these right away.
We have this monitor set up in the nursery. The camera quality is great and the sound detection is really sensitive. We don’t have Koss sleeping in the crib yet, but sometimes he will take naps in there and this works like a charm. You can talk through it- so sometimes when Daniel is cleaning the nursery I spook him lol. It also has a sound machine and the app is super user friendly.
The Snoo has proven to be by far our best purchase. We did put this on our registry… because you never know ha! Unfortunately no one went for it, but we knew we wanted one. We ended up buying ours secondhand and I encourage you all to do so too. They also have a rental option. I’m working on a video right now to show you how it’s been using it, but its been such a blessing for us. Koss sleeps so well and we owe it to this smart bassinet! Trust me on this one.
Hope this list can help you in some way! Try not to be so stressed, you’ll be able to live without any of these things and sometimes it’s best to figure out what you need when you’re in it. Good luck! Xo
