My Baby Shower!
I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Yesterday, my closest friends put together a little baby shower. When I got pregnant during a pandemic I knew I wasn’t going to have the most traditional 9 months, but I was determined to make the most of it and soak in every second.
This baby shower was more amazing than I ever could have imagined. We kept it to a close group of 10 and I wanted to make sure we were as responsible as possible. Daniel and I have been pretty cautious the last few months, it’s a scary time and being pregnant has definitely added a lot of anxiety. Everyone was so respectful of each other and my wishes.
Masks on and air hugs definitely make for a more awkward experience, but we made the most of it and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day.
My two friends, Sandra and Kim, really outdid themselves. They came up the night before with tons of decor in hand. They have been my best friends since college and my rocks throughout this pregnancy. When they first started planning this little shindig- they asked me what kind of theme I wanted. All I said was “I love flowers”. I think they nailed it.
More of my friends started to arrive. It was filled with some of my oldest and closest friends. Girls from sleep away camp, college, and my closest friend since diapers. We also had some family come including my brother, future sister in law, and Daniel’s cousin.
This baby is already so loved!
I think he’ll get a kick out of all of us wearing masks one day.
(hopefully we won’t have to be wearing them then…)
My friends put together a bunch of activities; Kim handmade some games. They were gorgeous and so thoughtful- plus really fun. I’m personally most excited to read all the predictions! Sandra set up a make your own bib section and all of my friends handmade us a bunch of cute bibs! And my friend, Irina, organized a zoom event for all of my other friends and family.
The zoom was so special. It was incredible to see my family. And it was a chance for some of my extended family to meet Daniels. I had friends on there I hadn’t seen in years.
During the zoom call I opened up all of the incredibly thoughtful gifts my friends and family sent to us.
I got the most adorable gingham romper from my future sister in law, Zoe (pictured here).
A lot of the necessities came from my registry (which I’ll be sharing a glimpse of soon), but I told everyone to send me their favorite books and we got such an incredible selection! I’m most excited to read my little boy The Giving Tree!
All in all it was a truly special day that I will cherish forever!
